Privacy policy

Last updated: 27 October 2026.

This policy explains what personal data this website collects, why, how long it keeps it, and what rights you have. It follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and its ordinance. Where the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to the processing described here, you also enjoy the rights it provides.

When you browse this website

The server hosting this website records a technical log for every page requested: IP address, date and time, page viewed, browser identification. These logs serve the operation of the website, its security, and the investigation of incidents. They are not used to identify you, nor to follow you from one visit to the next.

This website does not measure its audience and does not itself install any advertising tracker. The outside services it may embed are described below, each in its own section.

When you fill in a form

The forms on this website record the information you enter — whatever the form asks for, for example name, email address, telephone, postal address, subject and message — together with the language and the page from which you send it. It is used to handle your request and to reply to you, and for nothing else.

A copy of your request reaches us by email — for an order paid online, once payment is confirmed. Our email provider therefore becomes aware of it, on our behalf and for no other purpose. Depending on the form, you also receive an acknowledgement of receipt.

This website also runs its own checks, calling on no one: an invisible field that only a robot fills in, a measurement of the time elapsed before submission, and a small calculation requested from your browser. A submission judged to be automated may be refused, or set aside without being passed on to us: if you think your request has not reached us, write to us.

Providing this information is not a legal obligation. Required fields are needed to handle your request; the others are optional.

Cookies

This website sets one technical session cookie, essential to the operation and security of the forms: it carries the token that prevents a form from being submitted in your name from another website. It contains only a technical identifier, is not used to follow your browsing, and disappears when you close your browser.

A strictly necessary cookie requires no consent: that is why this website informs you rather than asking you to accept.

You may delete or block cookies at any time from your browser settings. The forms on this website will then stop working.

Your display preferences — light or dark mode, the acknowledgement of the information banner and, where applicable, whether you have already seen the welcome animation — are kept in your browser’s local storage. They are never sent to us and never leave your device.

Maps

If this website displays an OpenStreetMap or swisstopo map, its tiles are served by the website itself: no data is passed to a third party and no cookie is set.

Who has access to your data

We neither sell nor rent your data. It is disclosed only to the recipients described below and in the preceding sections.

It is accessible, strictly within the scope of their task, to the people handling your request, and to the technical providers acting on our behalf and on our instructions — the website’s hosting provider and our email provider. They are bound to confidentiality and may make no other use of it.

We also disclose data where a legal provision or a competent authority requires us to.

Transfers abroad

The outside services described in this policy may process data outside Switzerland, in particular in the United States. Such a transfer takes place only to a country recognised by the Federal Council as offering adequate protection, or on the basis of recognised safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses. The countries and safeguards of each provider may be requested from us at the address given above.

How long we keep it

Each category of data is kept for as long as its purpose requires, then deleted:

  • technical server logs: a few months, under the hosting provider’s rules
  • requests received through a form, including event registrations: at most 24 months from receipt; they are then archived, and the archive is deleted 12 months later
  • website backups: no longer than twelve months

Security

Exchanges with this website are encrypted (HTTPS). Access to the administration area is password-protected, and logins to it are recorded. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, unauthorised access and disclosure — while absolute security cannot be guaranteed on the internet.

Your rights

Depending on the applicable law, you may:

  • access the data concerning you and request a copy of it;
  • have it corrected if it is inaccurate, or completed if it is incomplete;
  • request its deletion, subject to what the law requires us to keep;
  • object to a processing operation, or request its restriction;
  • request the handover or transfer, in a common format, of the data you have provided to us, where the law so provides;
  • withdraw your consent where the processing rests on it, without calling into question what was done before.

One address for all of this: info@verbier-technologies.ch. We reply within the statutory time limit — as a rule thirty days — and explain why if we need to extend it or if an exception applies. We may ask you to prove your identity before disclosing any data. Exercising these rights is, as a rule, free of charge.

Automated decisions

This website takes no decision based exclusively on automated processing that has legal effects for you or significantly affects you, and builds no profile. Only technical checks apply: a submission judged to be automated may be refused, and registration is no longer possible once an event is full or closed.

Complaint

If our answer does not satisfy you, you may contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC), Feldeggweg 1, 3003 Bern — edoeb.admin.ch. Where the GDPR applies, you may also contact a supervisory authority in the European Union, in particular that of the Member State where you live, where you work or where the alleged infringement took place.
